Since we knew that this day was coming sooner than later, Josh had moved the crib mattress down a notch or two. She had been pulling up on everything else, we knew it was a matter of days until we came in to get her one morning and she would be standing up to get out. However, this new found milestone has come with one problem. She hasn't quite figured out how to get back down without hurting herself. When Josh and I are playing with her, it isn't too much of a concern because we are always there to catch her. We are trying to show her how to fall on her tushy but it is a slow process. This past weekend when we tried to put her down for a nap, which she protested, she would stand up at the crib and cry. She just couldn't figure out how to get back down. After a few times, she finally realized how tired she was and stayed laying down for a nap. It would be more comical if she hadn't been crying because she was so over tired.
Playing while standing has been so much more exciting for her than playing on the floor. We got her a toy car that can assist her in walking because she pushes it for support. Before this past week, she would walk a little with it but not very well. Now, she can push that car all around the family room and head towards the kitchen. Of course she can't steer very well so my walls are suffering but I am just so excited she is cruising around.
Speaking of walls suffering, I am noticing how dirty my floors are. I am by no means a neat freak but I like to have a semi clean house at all times. I usually spend my non working Fridays cleaning the house from top to bottom. Yes, I lead an exciting life of cleaning on my days off. But since that is only every two weeks, I try to straighten up here and there. I do like to have certain things cleaned constantly like the kitchen, Abby's high chair and most other places she comes in contact with. However, since she is crawling around on the floor, I didn't realize how dirty my floors get! Of course between two adults, two cats and a Cheerio throwing 10 month old, I knew that they get some wear and tear. Not until Abby was crawling around and walking around in her car did I realize how dirty my floors really are...I think I will have to go home today and wash them. Thank goodness it is an off Friday this week!

I am sure Carri or Mommy Linda would love to fly down to FL to help you clean your floors. She just keeps getting cuter and cuter, if that is possible.
