What Time Is It? Tooth-Hurty

Abigail has been growing like a weed and we keep having more fun with her. She has expanded her repertoire of foods and is now on the move. We keep taking her monthly pictures but it has been getting harder to keep her still, as you can see:

Abby even went on her third plane trip. We went up to see my parents for a week. What was even better is that she got to meet her Great Uncle Marc and cousin Kate for the first time. Kate is my first cousin so does that make her and Abby first cousins once removed? I can never figure out that whole thing. Abby's Great-Grammy Mae and other cousin Emily was there too. Emily also introduced the family to her fiance, Kirk. Really nice guy and we are happy to have him joining our family. I just can't get over that my little cousin, Emily, is getting married! Okay, back to Abigail.

The first night we were at my parents, Abby woke up at 4 AM. Not normal for her but since she was out of her own bed (slept in the pack n play) we figured she just needed to adjust. Not a big deal. The next night, she basically screamed from 11:30 PM to 2 AM. I wondered at that point where my sweet baby went and left this squirmy, screaming thing instead. My sweet child who sleeps from 7 PM to 6 AM on a regular basis. Again, we figured she was just off her schedule, in a different place, etc. The next night, Josh and I were at our wits end and just couldn't handle it anymore. We figured she was starting to be defiant and didn't like the bed or just wanted to be up playing with us. But then I put her on the bed, while she was screaming, and saw the littlest of white making its way through. THANK GOODNESS! We don't have a screaming, defiant and possibly bratty kid! Our poor, little baby is teething terribly. Once we figured that out, we got some teething gel and she slept through the night for the rest of the vacation. Can you see the tooth?

Okay, so it isn't the greatest picture but trust me, it is there. We actually had a small screaming problem this week and was able to instantly diagnose it as teething. Not to mention, get something for her gums to soothe her. Then just yesterday we saw the smallest of tooth number two popping up next to tooth number one to keep it company.

With the introduction of a tooth (almost two teeth) Abby has become a lot more adventurous with food. Who knew that a tooth would make a difference but she is starting to lose her patience for strained and pureed food. We have moved on to baby biscuits, baby puffs and her new favorite, Cheerios. It is a lot of fun to have her now sitting up in the stroller shoving Cheerios in her mouth. Though I think she has more fun playing than actually eating! I am convinced that anyone can tell where we have been by the trail of Cheerios and puffs.

Now that we have the teething figured out and Cheerios permanently in the diaper bag, things are back to normal. Abby is a wonderful baby and we are so very lucky.

I find myself rushing home after work to be with her. To soak in every minute I can before she goes to bed at 7. I don't even change out of my work clothes most of the time. That would just be an extra 5 minutes that I would be missing.

As much as we sometimes miss the freedom of doing things as just the two of us, I wouldn't change going out as the three of us.
