This weekend was my 10 year high school reunion. It is amazing to me that it has been 10 years. If I really look back, I know where the time went. I have accomplished a lot in the past 10 years and I am very proud of it. I got my bachelor's degree, my master's degree, I got married, built a house and have a great job.
It was amazing to reconnect with so many people. Everyone really seemed to grow up and realize that the petty crap we argued about or even concerned ourselves with in high school was such a waste of time. But back then, who called who and who liked who was very crucial. Talking with friends and passing notes in class was the highlight of my day. Wow, how times have changed.
Time has seemed to speed up lately. I don't know at what age time seemed to start to move more quickly. I remember being younger and not even comprehending the difference between days. I either went to school or my mom let me sleep in and play all day. Then it started to shift into more of me waiting for the weekend and knowing exactly how many days I have left in the week. Now, it is already August and I feel like it was just March!
Just remember, time flies like an arrow...fruit flies like a banana.

You know, after careful reconsideration, I have discovered the petty shit we went through in high school was really a solid training ground for a future in politics. Who sits next to whom? Who do the 'cool' kids hang out with? Who do we pay attention to? All this stuff is visible in our legislative chambers on CSPAN.
The only difference in high school is that we don't refer to one another as "my good friend, the representative from Albert Road and 3rd Period Algebra". "Mr. Chairman, I request we vote in favor of the Parker Avenue keg party for $2 a head. My constituents, the good people of the fightin' 5th period History class would be completely offended if we neglected to consider such an event".
